Welcome to our website! We are happy you are interested in our sports club.

First of all, we would like to give you an overview of who we are, and thus collected some important information right here.

What we offer

The club SportClique Roter Stern Jena (“SportsCircle” Red Star Jena) was founded in early 2017 in Jena (Thuringia). At the end of 2017 two courses started – a course in self-defence for women*, inter*, and trans* people and a football team for everybody, especially for all genders!

We would wish for many other offers and have many ideas (basket ball, running, hiking, climbing, dancing – for example Salsa with reversed roles for man and woman etc.) but would need people offering these. So, if you are interested in starting a new sports group, please contact us . We might be able to support you when it comes to finding locations, organising material, advertising, and financial planning.

Overhere, to see our current courses, offers and training hours!

We also offer workshops on demand on self-assertionand self-defence for women*, inter* and trans* people. Other workshops might follow!

Please, see our current workshops and feel free to contact us!

Who we are

We would like to create spaces for people to meet, exchange ideas, and join each other in sportive activities. We founded a registered association (de – e.V.) in order to be an official sports club which allows us to apply for funding, insurance etc. The way we organise ourselves, talk to each other, or interact during sports is important to us. Open-mindedness and a welcoming atmosphere is what we work for. We work against intolerance, racism, anti-Semitism, sexism, homophobia, classicism, and any other form of discrimination. Origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and socio-economic status of a person are not important to us and we aim to reach everyone with our offers.

In addition to our sports courses we take part in projects like the Copa Courage (football/socceragainst racism) and the Flutlicht-Festival (which is committed towork against discrimination in football); we also participate in events of other clubs, for example, the Stolpersteinlauf organised by the club Roter Stern Gera (a city nearby). Stolpersteine are small metal cobble stones engraved with names of people who were deported (and murdered) by the Nazis. The walk or run from stone to stone is one way to commemorate.
